In 2009 we launched Patuxent Wine & Spirits and fell in love with the beverage and hospitality industry. Our goal has always been to delight our patrons with our customer service and knowledge, and to be the premiere destination for unique and hard to find items in Southern Maryland. 

Over time, we began working with Chef Gwyn Novak of No Thyme to Cook in Solomons, MD to host wine dinners. The dinners became such a huge hit that we had to start turning people away…which broke our heart! 

Fast forward to 2021 and we came up with the idea to host more educational classes with light bites on premise…with a twist…the classes are not in our retail space. We created a separate space and named it Barrel 9 so we could offer an intimate and unique experience.  

Our mission is to delight and educate with our offerings. All of our wines & spirits came from a barrel…thus the name, Barrel 9. No stainless steel here!  

We are newly opened and have one goal in mind: providing an enjoyable dining experience. Thanks to our experience and dedication, we’ve managed to become masters of the craft. We take pride in providing unique libations and small plates that are simply unforgettable.
